    Once a tennis ball destroyer back in her “golden years,” Millie has now settled down for the office life with her human, Nancy. She brings great joy to our team and clients who visit. Her favorite snack is “bread” of any kind and her Achilles heel is a good back scratch.


    Director of Operations & Interior Designer

    Following a similar path as her brother Patrick, Nancy Ahearn and has acquired over thirty years of interior design experience in residential design and hospitality. Twenty of those years, she has been an integral part of Patrick Ahearn Architect focusing on interior specifications and finishes including many of the 75 Restaurants in Boston. Today, Nancy also plays a key role in the firm’s infrastructure by managing the day-to-day activities in the office including billing, record keeping, human resources, and more. After a productive day at work, Nancy enjoys driving her white Audi A5 convertible with the top down and Millie’s ears flapping in the wind.



    Originally from Wellesley, Massachusetts, Michael Cahn graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture. In addition to the core curriculum, Michael also focused on architecture visualization and urban planning, collaborating with companies such as Audi AG. Before joining Patrick Ahearn Architect in 2016, Michael gained valuable design experience on Cape Cod working for a residential firm in Orleans, Massachusetts. Currently, he is a resident in Brookline, however, he prefers his weekends in the summer sailing his antique Beetle Cat in Pleasant Bay, on Cape Cod.

    Peter Fletcher grew up in Connecticut and earned his Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology and a Master of Architecture at the Boston Architectural College. Committed to advancing his career, he is currently studying for his architecture license. Prior to joining Patrick Ahearn Architect in 2015, he worked for several architectural firms in Boston and a high-end millwork company in New Hampshire gaining him extensive detailing and construction experience. Peter is a true New Englander with close family connections to Martha’s Vineyard dating back the 1890s.


    Edward Gaffney graduated from Assumption College, MA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Science and Chemistry. Additionally, he received a Master of Architecture Degree from the Boston Architectural College. He has worked at several architectural firms prior to joining Patrick Ahearn Architect eight years ago. In addition he also teaches design at the New England School of Art & design at Suffolk University.


    James graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Building Technology from New England Institute of Technology with Honors and he also holds his Master of Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural College. Not only is James a member of the Boston Society of Architects and the American Institute of Architects, but he also obtained a NCARB certificate from the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He has extensive technical and design experience gained over the last eleven years of practice.



    Colby Mauke grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Hobart College in New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture and Studio Art. He is currently working on obtaining his Master of Architecture degree from the Boston Architectural College with the goal to become a licensed architect soon after. Prior to joining Patrick Ahearn Architect in 2016, Colby gained valuable experience working with a construction company on Cape Cod and a high-end custom furniture company in New York. When Colby is out of the office, you can find him on the Cape golfing or out on the water reeling in the next record-breaking tuna.

    Cesar Monte’s interest in architecture began at a young age when he discovered his appreciation for classicism specifically within the Acropolis of Athens in Greece. Born in St. Miguel, Azores and raised in Southern New England, Cesar Monte graduated with honors from the New England Institute of Technology in Warwick, Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Building Design & Technology and Master of Architecture degree from the San Francisco Institute of Technology. Before joining Patrick Ahearn Architect in 2005, Cesar gained considerable technical experience over the last seventeen years of practice between building technology and design. With over twenty years of valuable experience as a project manager, he is currently studying for his architecture license, and on completion is planning to visit some of his favorite Architectural inspired sites including the Acropolis, and its famous Parthenon.


    Katie Nolan is Director of Marketing and Web Development for Patrick Ahearn. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Marketing and a Masters in Interactive Media from Elon University, NC. She is responsible for all social media development, print advertising, and award presentations for the firm as well as all web development.


    Managing Principal

    Michael Tartamella developed an interest in architecture at a young age watching his uncle design homes on the east end of Long Island; he knew then that he wanted to become an architect. A native of Maryland, Michael was introduced to New England by sailing up here during the summers and spending time on the Cape and Islands.  Michael holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Roger Williams University and obtained his professional registration in 2008. Throughout his professional career, Michael has gained knowledge and expertise in a variety of project types working with architectural firms in New England, Long Island, and Washington DC.  Since joining Patrick Ahearn Architect in 2005, Michael has excelled in providing outstanding design and project management on many of the firm’s most significant projects and he has demonstrated a profound aptitude and commitment to the firm’s unique approach to creating timeless architecture. He was promoted to the role of Senior Associate in 2013 and was elevated again to Managing Principal in 2018.
