Pretty patterns and fanciful hues energize a waterfront family home in Massachusetts

This stone-and-shingle beach home in Cohasset, Massachusetts, doesn’t need a welcome mat; the front door, painted a vivid coral, offers a cheerful greeting right away. “I’ve loved this color my entire life,” says the homeowner, who lives in the charming waterfront dwelling full-time with her husband and their three small children. “I just think it’s gorgeous – not too serious and a little whimsical. It gives the whole house personality.”
