This project—encompassing only the interior architecture of an existing contemporary structure on Boston Harbor—represented an opportunity to create a year-round waterfront oasis. The goal was to craft a boutique bar-restaurant whose significant indoor and outdoor areas would feel warm, inviting, fun, and comfortable.
The terrace features sleek furnishing and tall flame heaters, while inside, ductwork was kept exposed and the ceiling painted black. Creative lighting animates the space, and the long, dark wooden bar’s classical millwork provides intriguing contrast to the industrial glass shell. The result is a spot that’s as enticing in a snowstorm as it is in the summer.
