We are pleased to share that Patrick Ahearn won TWO of the three 2016 Bulfinch Awards from the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art in the Residential Architecture category. ICAA’s mission is to, “advance the practice and appreciation of classical tradition in architecture, urbanism, and the allied arts.” Named for Boston architect Charles Bulfinch (1763-1844), America’s first native-born architect and the designer of the Massachusetts State House, the awards recognize the best work of individuals and firms to preserve and advance the classical tradition in New England.
This year was the Sixth Annual Bulfinch Awards however it was the first time the awards have been open to firms all over the country as long as the project was located in one of the six New England states. The winners of the Bulfinch Awards were recognized at a ceremonial reception and dinner gala in the Harvard Hall at the Harvard Club, designed by Parker, Thomas & Rice, at 374 Commonwealth Avenue, in Boston Saturday evening, April 23, 2016.
The HGTV Dream Home 2015 received the award for best “Residential New Construction Under 5,000 SF” and Morse Street Compound received the award for best “Residential Restoration, Renovation, or Addition.”
